Director of Development
Kirsten Ross is Director of Development for the Barry & Peggy Goldwater Foundation, a nonprofit, nonpartisan, 501(c) (3) corporation. The mission of the Foundation is to “preserve history for future generations” through curating, restoring, preserving and showcasing, historic and educational collections of photographs, motion film, and documentation. Since before the Foundation’s official formation in 2017, Kirsten has worked closely with its founder and Executive Director, Alison Goldwater Ross, in securing major funding, cultivating key relationships, building community interest and support, creating and managing projects, and in developing future partnerships and platforms.
Although she was born near her grandfather's cattle and thoroughbred horse ranch, situated on the Monterey Peninsula in Northern California, Kirsten grew up in Phoenix since the age of two, and considers herself a native Arizonan. Her professional career began in Tucson, where she lived for 14 years after leaving the Valley to attend the University of Arizona. She worked for over 7 years as a personal administrative assistant to a major real estate developer in Tucson before moving on to excel in TV, radio and print advertising sales and marketing. Upon returning to Phoenix, Kirsten became involved in a nonprofit organization, and was instrumental in co-founding, developing and managing a unique and wildly popular fundraising event, which featured world-renowned artists and celebrity chefs from all over the globe. This resulted in national attention from museums, magazines, the James Beard Foundation and the TV Food Network - substantially increasing the size, revenue, and profile of the event year-after-year.
In the years following, Kirsten has been involved in the building and remodeling of several homes, worked in education and technology fields, and acted as an independent contractor in a sales and consulting capacity for several privately-owned businesses. She is very involved with and most proud of her large, extended family, which includes: Son - Casey Rehling, Regional Director for Voya Investment Management; Daughter-In-Law - Erin Rehling, wife extraordinaire and CFO + Marketing Manager for Red Apron Bakeshop, Tempe; and Daughter - Katharine Ross, a 2019 University of Arizona Magna Cum Laude Graduate in Health Sciences, Intern Assistant to Mitchel A. Lipton, MD and Carter B. Lipton, MD, Orthopedic Surgeons -The Hand Center, and soon-to-be Graduate Student at Midwestern University, Physician Assistant Program.
